Is applying perfume recommended for Friday prayer?

Applying perfume (Tatayyub) is recommended (Mandub) for the Friday prayer. This is established by the saying of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "Washing on Friday is obligatory for every male who has reached puberty, using Siwak, and applying perfume." Furthermore, Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said, "This is a day of Eid, which Allah has made for the Muslims. Whoever among you comes to Friday prayer, let him perform Ghusl (ritual bath), and if he has perfume, let him apply some of it, and adhere to using Siwak."
