Where should the congregation pray if there is an impediment preventing them from going to the main gathering place?

If an excuse prevents people from going out, such as rain, fear, or similar circumstances, they must pray in the congregational mosque (Al-Jami'). This is established by the narration of Abu Hurayrah that when rain afflicted them on the day of Eid, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, led them in the Eid prayer inside the mosque. This was recorded by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah.
