It is disliked for one entering the mosque to step over the necks of the people. This is based on the statement of the Prophet, peace be upon him: "Do not separate between two [people]." Furthermore, the Prophet stated regarding one who came stepping over people's necks on Friday: "Sit down, for you have caused annoyance and delay." Another narration states that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever steps over the necks of the people on Friday will have built a bridge to Hellfire." This hadith is narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi.
