Primary text

It is recommended to frequently supplicate with blessings upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the Day of Jumu'ah (Friday). This is evidenced by the narration from Abu Ad-Darda, where the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stated: 'Increase your blessings upon me on Friday, for it is a witnessed day that the angels attend.' This narration is recorded by Ibn Majah. Furthermore, the narration from Aws ibn Aws states that the Prophet (peace be upon him) declared Friday the best of days, mentioning that Adam was created on it, he passed away on it, the Trumpet will be blown on it, and the universal blast will occur on it. He commanded the believers to increase blessings upon him on that day because their blessings are presented to him. When asked how their prayers are presented after he has decayed, he explained that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the Prophets (peace be upon them). This latter narration is recorded by Abu Dawud.
