Is it recommended to wear an 'imama (turban) and a rida' (upper garment) during the Friday prayer?

It is recommended to wear an 'imama and a rida' because the Prophet, peace be upon him, used to do so. This recommendation is even more emphasized for the Imam (prayer leader) than for others, as he is the one looked upon by the people.
