If the residents of the village are themselves obligated to attend the Friday prayer, then the residents of the town must proceed to the village to attend the prayer there. This obligation applies because the distance between them and the location where the Friday prayer is established (the village) is less than one *farsakh* (a measure of distance). This is analogous to the requirement for village residents to travel to the town if the Friday prayer were established there, provided the village residents are also fewer than forty.
