Some Companions, specifically Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla and Abdullah ibn Ma'qil, would perform the dawn prayer while still dressed in their Eid clothes, and then they would hasten towards the prayer ground, with one reciting the *takbir* (Allahu Akbar) and the other reciting the *tahlil* (La ilaha illa Allah).
