What is the ruling regarding performing the two rak'ahs of Eid prayer with the Imam?

The Eid prayer consists of two rak'ahs. This is confirmed by continuous tradition from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who performed it as two rak'ahs, and the Imams who followed him up to the present time. 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, stated that the Eid prayer is two rak'ahs, complete and not shortened, according to the tongue of your Prophet.
