Where should the voluntary prayer after Jumu'ah be performed?

The Sunnah allows for flexibility concerning the location of the post-Jumu'ah prayer. Ibn Umar was observed praying two Rak'ahs immediately after Jumu'ah in the mosque, and then proceeding home to pray four more Rak'ahs. Conversely, when in Medina, he would return home after Jumu'ah to pray two Rak'ahs there, stating that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to do that.
