What actions must be performed immediately after the soul is taken (post-mortem)?

Immediately after death, the eyes of the deceased must be closed, as the sight follows the departing soul. This is based on the action of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) closing the eyes of Abu Salamah and instructing those present to speak only good, as angels affirm their statements. Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) also instructed his son on how to close his eyes upon his death.
