Primary text

There is no scholarly disagreement that the deceased is not required to have the ritual washing repeated if something is emitted after the initial washing and shrouding. This is because repeating the ghusl causes extreme hardship, requiring removal from the grave, rewashing, drying or replacing the grave clothes, and repeated difficulty. Therefore, the deceased is carried out as they are, and there is no need to repeat the wudu or wash the point of emission to avoid this hardship.

Supporting text

If the emission is a small, inconspicuous amount, the washing is not repeated. However, if the discharge is substantial and obvious, there is a position, attributed to the view of al-Khiraqi and supported by Ishaq ibn Mansur from Ahmad, that the deceased should be rewashed if this occurs before the seventh day, as a large emission is conspicuous and repeating the washing can be secured against recurrence through tight wrapping. Despite this, the majority of Ahmad's companions narrated that rewashing is never required, and the established practice follows the majority due to the hardship involved.
