Is ghusl required for a martyr who converted to Islam on the day of battle and was subsequently killed?

No ghusl is required for a martyr who embraced Islam immediately prior to martyrdom on the day of battle. This ruling is established by the report concerning Asram of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, who accepted Islam on the Day of Uhud and was then killed; he was not commanded to be washed.
