It is permissible to exhume a grave and bury another person in it if certainty is established that the deceased has decayed (*ramim*). If there is doubt regarding the decay, the matter must be referred to experts for determination. If one excavates and finds bones, those bones must be reburied, and a new grave dug elsewhere. This ruling is affirmed by Ahmad, who reasoned that breaking the bone of a dead person is analogous to breaking the bone of a living person. Furthermore, relocation of the deceased is permissible if the original grave location causes harm, evidenced by the relocation of Talha and Aisha. Similarly, Ahmad found no issue in moving bodies buried in undesirable locations, citing the precedent where Mu'adh relocated his wife.
