Is it permissible to wear Khuff (soft leather boots) while walking in the burial grounds?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Funerals
Primary text
The dislike (Makruh) of walking in footwear does not extend to Khuff (soft leather boots) because removing them causes hardship. Ahmad was known to wear his Khuff when intending to go out to a funeral, even while commanding the removal of sandals.
Supporting text
Al-Qadi mentioned that the prohibition does not extend to shoes other than sandals, such as 'shamshikat,' because the prohibition was not attributed to a specific underlying cause (ta'leel), so it is not extended beyond its explicit subject.
