Primary text

The ritual washing is waived for a martyr killed in the battlefield because performing it would involve removing blood that is religiously respected, or due to the difficulty in washing many bodies, or because of the presence of serious wounds on their bodies. None of these circumstances are present for the martyrs mentioned previously.
