Is a Muslim woman obligated to wash her non-Muslim husband (Dhimmi)?

Primary text
A Dhimmi wife does not wash her deceased Muslim husband. This prohibition rests upon the requirement of intention (niyyah) in the ritual washing (*ghusl*), which a non-Muslim is incapable of possessing. Furthermore, there is no lawful relationship (*muwalat*) or inheritance between them, and the marriage bond is severed by death.
