Primary text

If the lineage-based male relatives (*Asabah*) are completely exhausted, the order of succession proceeds to the man who bestowed the favor (*al-Mawla al-Mun'im*). Following him are his closest male relatives (*Asabah*). If these are also exhausted, the succession moves to the man from the relatives by blood (*Dhawu al-Arham*), starting with the closest relative by blood, moving to the next closest. Finally, if none of these remain, the succession passes to non-related strangers (*al-Ajnabiyyun*).
