Primary text

If a deceased person is severely contracted, hunched, or similar, and the body can be straightened through softening agents or hot water, this action must be performed. If straightening is only possible through force, the body is left in its current state. If the deceased's condition necessitates that they cannot be laid upon the washing stretcher (nash) except in a manner that publicizes their defect as mutilation, the body is placed in a coffin or under a covering (makabbah), similar to what is done for a woman, as this provides better protection and concealment.
