What is required regarding the care of the mouth and lips of the dying person?

When the dying process (*nuzul*) is observed, the mouth should be tended to by dripping water or a drink into it, and the lips should be moistened with cotton. The person should be turned to face the Qibla because the best gatherings are those facing the Qibla, according to the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
