What response should be given by the recipient of condolences?

Regarding the response from the person receiving condolences, it is reported from Ahmad ibn Al-Husayn that he heard Abu Abdullah saying, while offering condolences for his cousin Ubaithar: 'May Allah answer your supplication, and have mercy upon us and you.'
