What is the ruling on performing the funerary prayer for an absent person or prayer over an already buried grave during the prohibited times?

It is not permissible to perform the funerary prayer for an absent person (Salat al-Gha'ib) or prayer over an existing grave during any of the prohibited times. The justification (illah) for permitting the funerary prayer for the present deceased is concern for that deceased; since that concern is absent here, the ruling reverts to the fundamental prohibition, and the general prohibition is acted upon.
