Primary text
If any part of the deceased person is found later while the main body exists, that lost part must be washed and included within the shrouds of the body. This ruling is attributed to Ibn Sirin, and no disagreement on this point is known. Evidence is provided by the narration that Asma washed her son, removing limbs one by one, perfuming each part after washing, and placing it in his shroud. This practice ensures the gathering of the deceased's parts in one place, which is preferable to their dispersion.
