What is the ruling regarding an Umm Walad washing her deceased master?

Primary text
The ruling concerning an Umm Walad is the same as that concerning a free woman regarding the matters previously mentioned. The supporting view is that she is treated similarly to a wife regarding permissible touching, looking, and sexual intercourse, and thus should be treated similarly concerning the washing of the deceased master. The necessity of inheritance is not a prerequisite for this ruling, as evidenced when one spouse is a slave. The waiting period (Istibra') for her is analogous to the 'Iddah (waiting period) for a wife. Furthermore, if the Umm Walad dies, her master is obligated to provide her shroud, burial, and maintenance, which differentiates her status from that of a wife in some respects.
Supporting text
It is suggested that an Umm Walad may not wash her master because her manumission occurred upon his death, severing any legal bond related to inheritance or otherwise. This view aligns with the position of Abu Hanifa.
