Primary text

Touching a deceased person with one's hands, sleeves, or cloths renders the performer one who has experienced an event requiring ritual cleansing (*mubtil* or *muhaddith*), and this act is disliked (*makruh*). Furthermore, there is a concern that such contact may corrupt the deceased body.
