Visiting the sick is recommended (*mustahabb*). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to follow funeral processions and visit the sick. This is supported by the narration of Al-Bara, reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Furthermore, there is great virtue in this act: whoever visits a sick person in the evening is accompanied by seventy thousand angels who seek forgiveness for him until morning, and he earns a harvest (*khareef*) in Paradise. Similarly, whoever visits in the morning is accompanied by seventy thousand angels seeking forgiveness for him until evening, and he earns a harvest in Paradise. This latter narration is deemed Hasan Gharib by Al-Tirmidhi.
