Why can the father revoke the gift of a slave who committed a harmful act after the liability attached, when he cannot revoke a mortgaged item while its redemption fee is due?

Primary text
The ability to revoke the gift of the slave despite the liability for compensation differs from revoking a mortgage because the mortgage prevents disposition of the item, which is not the case with the liability for an act against the slave. Furthermore, redeeming a mortgage constitutes the dissolution of a contract made by the donee, whereas the liability here is not connected to the original gift contract.
