Does partial destruction or diminution in value of a gifted item prevent the giver from revoking the gift?

Revocation of a gift is not prevented if a part of the gifted item is destroyed or if its value diminishes. The son (recipient) bears no liability for the destruction of the item because its destruction occurs while it is under his ownership.
