What is the basis in the Quran for the obligation of Hajj?

The obligation stems from the Almighty's saying: 'And Hajj to the House is a duty to Allah for all people who can afford the journey to it' (Quran 3:97). Ibn Abbas narrated that 'whoever disbelieves' means whoever disbelieves in its obligation due to his creed. Furthermore, the command 'And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah' is established (Quran 2:196).
