Bathing upon entering Mecca is recommended for women, even if they are menstruating (hayd) or experiencing postpartum bleeding (nifas), just as it is for men. This is based on the command of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, to Aisha when she menstruated: 'Do what the pilgrim does, except that you should not circumambulate the Kaaba.' The reasoning is that bathing is intended for purification, which is achieved even during menstruation, thus making the act recommended for her.
