Is clothing dyed with ochre or other substances permissible for the Ihram state?
Chapter on What the Muhrim Must Avoid and What is Permissible for Him
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
Clothing dyed with ochre (maghra) is permissible because it is dyed with earth, not perfume. Similarly, clothing dyed with other dyes, except those previously specified, is permissible. The underlying principle is permissibility unless specifically prohibited by divine law or its equivalent, which does not apply here.
