Is compensation due for hair-bearing skin pulled off?
Chapter on Ransom (Fidyah) and Penalty for Hunting
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
No compensation (*fidyah*) is required if skin bearing hair is pulled off because the hair is removed incidentally as a subordinate part of something else. The subordinate part is not indemnified, similar to the case where a person's eyelashes are pulled off; the eyelashes themselves are not subject to indemnity.
