There is an uncertainty regarding whether compensation is nullified if someone cuts a branch or vegetation, and then a replacement grows back (Istikhlaf). This is analogous to a wound on game that heals or the cutting of human hair that regrows. However, there is also an opinion that compensation remains obligatory because the second entity is not identical to the first.
