Consecutive fasting is not required, which implies neither aggregation nor separation is mandated. This is the position of Al-Thawri, Ishaq, and others, and no dissenting opinion is known regarding this.

There are two narrations from Abu Abdullah (Ahmad). The other narration states that one does not fast the days of Mina and fasts the following ten days, in which case a dam (sacrifice) is incumbent upon him.
