There is a report that Mu'awiyah alleged that the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade combining Hajj and Umrah (Qiran). The Companions refuted this claim. This assertion by Mu'awiyah is considered contrary to authentic Hadiths and consensus, as it appears he interpreted the Prophet's statement, 'If I were to proceed in my affair as I did in retrospect, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal (Hady),' as evidence for prohibition, whereas the Prophet, peace be upon him, performed Qiran in that pilgrimage.
