There are two views regarding the *Fidya* required due to a child's action. The primary view holds that it falls upon the child's wealth, as it resulted directly from the child's injurious act. An alternative view, held by Malik, states that the liability falls upon the guardian (*Wali*) because the act occurred with the guardian's contract or permission, similar to the maintenance (*Nafaqa*) required for the guardian's Hajj.
