Any wording that conveys the intended meaning of the stipulation is sufficient. The primary concern is the meaning itself, not the exact phraseology. Examples narrated from the righteous predecessors include: 'O Allah, I intend to perform 'Umrah, and if it is facilitated, then [I complete it], otherwise there is no blame upon me,' and 'O Allah, You know my intention and what I intend; if it is a matter that I complete, it is more beloved to me, otherwise there is no blame upon me.' Another permissible form is: 'O Allah, I intend to perform Hajj, and that is what I intended, if it is facilitated, otherwise ['Umrah instead].'
