The consensus among scholars is that the Muhrim is prohibited from wearing tailored garments (makhit), specifically shirts (Qamis), turbans (Imama), trousers (Sarawilat), cloaks (Baranis), and leather socks (Khuff). The foundational evidence is the hadith narrated by Ibn Umar where the Prophet (peace be upon him) specified these prohibitions. Scholars extended this ruling to include garments similar in nature, such as the Jabbah, Darra'ah, and other wrapped clothing. Therefore, the pilgrim may not cover their body with anything tailored to its shape, nor any part of their limbs with something tailored to that part, such as gloves for hands or socks for feet. This prohibition applies to men, excluding women, according to the consensus cited by Ibn Abd al-Barr.
