Hunting in Wadi Waj and its trees is permissible. The default ruling is permissibility. The opposing Hadith asserting its prohibition, recorded by Ahmad in Al-Musnad, is weak, a weakness affirmed by Ahmad himself, as documented by Abu Bakr Al-Khallal in his book Al-'Ilal.
