If one shaves before exiting to the Hill to complete the Umrah, a penalty (Damm) is due. Similarly, a penalty (Fidiyah) is due for any prohibited act of Ihram committed. If sexual intercourse occurs, the Umrah is invalidated, and the pilgrim proceeds with the spoiled Umrah, incurring a penalty (Damm) for invalidation. The pilgrim must then perform a replacement Umrah from the Hill. If the spoiled Umrah was the obligatory Umrah of Islam, the replacement suffices for that obligation; otherwise, it does not.
