Primary text

It is permissible for the beneficiary to drink the milk of the Hady. This is because its retention in the udder causes harm to the animal. If the animal has offspring, the beneficiary may only drink what remains after nourishing the young, based on the report concerning Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). If the beneficiary drinks milk that would harm the mother or milk that is not in excess of what the young needs, they are liable for its value because they transgressed by taking it.
