Chapter on What the Muhrim Must Avoid and What is Permissible for Him

Primary text
It is permissible to take truffles (al-Kam’ah) from the Sacred Precinct (Haram). This ruling also applies to desert truffles (al-Fuq’), because they have no established root, thus resembling harvested fruit (Thamar). This ruling is supported by the narration transmitted by Hanbal, stating that one may eat al-Daghābīs, al-‘Ashraq, what has fallen from the trees, and what people have cultivated within the Haram.
