Primary text

If the presence of the wool causes harm to the animal, it must be sheared, and the wool must be given as charity to the poor. The distinction between wool and milk is that the wool existed at the time the obligation of sacrifice was imposed, thus being obligatory along with the animal, whereas milk is continuously generated, making it akin to the animal's usability or being ridden.
