Is it sufficient to throw all required pebbles simultaneously in one motion?
Chapter on the Description of Hajj
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
If a person throws all the required pebbles at once in a single motion, it is only counted as valid for one stone. This is the position of Ahmad, Malik, Al-Shafi'i, and the Ashab al-Ra'y. The evidence is the Prophet's action of throwing seven individual throws and the statement, 'Take your rituals from me.'
Supporting text
Ata stated that it is sufficient, and the individual should say the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) for each stone.
