Primary text

If one breaks a game egg and a living chick hatches and survives, there is no liability. If the chick dies, the liability is the same as that for the offspring of the animal whose egg was destroyed. Specifically, if the egg was of a pigeon, the liability is that of a young sheep; if it was an ostrich egg, the liability is that of a young camel (ḥawār); and for all others, the liability is their monetary value.
