The location for Ihram remains the original site, even if the settlement's name transfers to the new location. This is because the religious ruling became attached to the original physical place, and its ruin does not nullify that attachment. Saeed ibn Jubayr demonstrated this by taking a man intending to assume Ihram from the new Dhat 'Irq past the valley to the old site by the graveyard, declaring it as the original Dhat 'Irq.
