Primary text

The preferred view, based on the actions of the Salaf (early Muslims), suggests that the frequent repetition and immediate succession of Umrahs are not recommended. Ahmad stated that after performing Umrah, one must shave or clip the hair, and this process can be completed within ten days, suggesting an interval shorter than ten days is discouraged. The practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions was to perform only one Umrah per journey, and they did not combine two Umrahs in one journey, except for Aisha when she menstruated and needed to perform a compensating Umrah from Al-Tann'īm.
