Obligation upon the individual if the obligatory standing at Arafah is missed because they did not return before the dawn of Yawm al-Nahr?
General Chapter
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
If they do not return, or if this occurs before the dawn of the Day of Sacrifice, it does not count for their Hajjat al-Islam. They must complete their remaining rituals as a supererogatory (nafl) act. No expiation (damm) is required upon them because they performed Hajj with a valid Ihram initiated from the Miqat as a voluntary pilgrim, resembling a mature person performing voluntary Hajj.
Supporting text
It is established that the standing performed before reaching maturity or manumission, which was voluntary initially, does not transform into the obligatory standing retrospectively, unlike the Ihram itself. For the standing, only the portion attained while legally capable (free and mature) is counted as obligatory; any part attained before that time is not counted.
