What is the obligation of a person who did not exit Ihram until the opportunity to perform the rite passed?
Chapter on What the Muhrim Must Avoid and What is Permissible for Him
Al-Mughni
Book of Hajj
Primary text
If the muhsar does not exit Ihram until the designated time for the rite passes, they must perform Sa'i (circumambulation for Tawaf al-Wada' or as part of Umrah, depending on the context), even if the Hajj season has passed, in order to exit Ihram by completing Umrah.

Regarding whether making up the missed Hajj is obligatory, there are two narrations. One states that making it up is obligatory, similar to one who misses it due to taking the wrong route. The second states that making it up is not obligatory because the cause of missing it was the impediment (Husr), which is analogous to one who finds no other route, distinguishing it from one who errs in the path.
