Primary text

If the residence is a village, the preferred place for assuming Ihram is from the furthest side of the village. Assuming Ihram from the nearest side is permissible. This ruling applies similarly to the Miqats established by the Prophet (PBUH) if they are villages, and the Hilla (area outside Makkah) is treated like a village in this context. If the residence is isolated, the Miqat is the residence itself or its parallel alignment. Every Miqat has a corresponding parallel alignment.

Supporting text

If the residence is within the Hill, Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah is initiated from there. If the residence is within the Haram, Ihram for Umrah must be initiated from the Hill to fulfill the combination of Hill and Haram, similar to the resident of Makkah. As for Hajj, it is appropriate for them to assume Ihram from any part of the Haram they wish, similar to the resident of Makkah.
