Is one who loans an object for a permissible purpose liable if it is subsequently used for hunting?
Chapter on What the Muhrim Must Avoid and What is Permissible for Him

Primary text
If one loans an implement to another person for a permissible use, and the borrower subsequently uses that implement for hunting, the loaner incurs no liability. This is because using the object for hunting, in this specific context where it was loaned for non-hunting purposes, is not considered a forbidden act for the borrower in relation to the lender's responsibility. This situation is analogous to a case where someone laughs upon seeing game, causing another person to notice it and hunt it.
